Blueridge guitars are not sought after by guitar enthusiasts for the uniqueness of the guitar itself. No, what Blueridge guitars are known for is recreating guitars that are no longer produced by the top level manufacturers. Now Blueridge guitars are produced with their own unique model and numbering schemes, so they aren't knockoffs. In fact, many of the latest guitars are brand-new to the market, and not recreations.

But just looking at the Blueridge Historic Series guitars, you see some great finds in new guitars that would cost a ton of money to locate in an original guitar. Many of the Historic series guitars are based upon Martin guitars in production prior to World War I. Guitars like the BR-160A Adirondack Dreadnaught is a completely new version of a much older Martin guitar design. This Blueridge guitar features the vintage forward X-bracing seen on older Martins as well as split diamond snowflake markers.

Several Blueridge guitars in the Historic series also feature the 14-fret neck which was first introduced by Martin to allow for higher notes while playing their guitars. The body of the Blueridge guitars that have the 14-fret neck have also been altered just like the Martin's to accomodate the longer neck.

Blueridge guitars are in no way a "knockoff guitar", although they might be considered a boutique guitar, since you can find them in a few stores outside of guitar specific shops. Blueridge guitars are predominantly Chinese-made guitars, which does cause some hesitation from US-based buyers about purchasing a guitar not made in America. However, usually the guitar that your chosen Blueridge guitar is attempting to emulate can be double and triple the price of the standard US-made model. In my personal economy, getting a guitar that's as good or close to as good as the original Martin for a much cheaper price goes a long way with me!
